This is the church that was built in the town of Fatima to hold the graves of the three children that seen Our Lady. At the time that I visited (September 2002), the oldest sister was still alive and living in a convent. I'm not sure where she is now. The story I was told is that the two youngest children died young. The boy never got to heard our lady and it took the children some time to convience the adults in the town that they had seen Or Lady. In fact they were punished and called liars by their parents, friend and the local priest. In time, they were able to convience the public to belive but only after Our Lady helped convience them. To this day the old sister, avoids being seen in public and hides in the convient because she fears disbelievers. The story is the boy never heard Our Lady speak, so the girls assumed the boy wasn't as holly as them. Based on that story, I believe the real truth is God let Mary speak to the children through the boy. Maybe that how the apostles got to speak in tounges and it allowed others to hear in their own language. So maybe when God speaks to us He uses someone else. Unforunately that person doesn't get to hear the message. They are the phone system connecting God to us. Personnally, I think the reason the children couldn't convience everyone was because Our Lady was passing on infomation that no one wanted to accept. The children's parents were very big believers of the rosary. So I think the children used their parents love of the rosary to convience their parents that they seen Our Lady. I believe Our Lady didn't wanted people to pray the rosary but the children had to say that to convience everyone that they seen her. My God is to smart to think that man would get any meaning from those repedative prayers. God can't do anything wrong. He can do anything He wants. Wouldn't you think He'd send Mary with perfect information. Any prayers God would give us would have to be perfect, easy to remember, easy to say, easy to understand and not so repedative that they lsoe meaning. So I suspect the true message that Our Lady sent was not accpeted by thier parents, friends and their priest. So they had to tell people what they would accept not what Our Lady really wanted them to say. I believe the best BEST PRAYERS you can say to God are conversations that thank Him, ask Him for help and/or just to say hi. As a father, I know how proud I am of anything my children accomplish and there is almost nothing I wouldn't do for them. Since I beleive that God is our father, why we He want us to treat Him any different. Why would a wise and all knowing God want us to repeat memorised prayers over and over again till they begin to mean almost nothing to us. I just don't believe an all knowing and loving God would send Our Lady to tell us to say those prayers. I believe Chirst wouldn't be wrong. He told us whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Christ prayer were simple, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do." And I believe on Good Friday, He was asking God if He really wanted Him to suffer and die for us. I know He did give us the Our Father but only after He was asked for a prayer. You know what they say, "Actions speak louder than words." Your daily actions should be your prayers to God. Everytime you help someone, you're helping one of God children. Everytime you hurt some one you're hurting God's children. As a father nothing anyone could do for me would make me as happy as seeing them help my children. I think God feels the same way. Remember in the bible, God said He was going to visit a house but He didn't come. He sent a hungry person, a person in need of rest and a person in need of clothes. He told the people I was there three times and you helped in everytime. So everytime you help someone you help one of God children and you make God happy. On the other hand when you hurt, steal, lie.... to others, you are doin it to one of God's children, so you're doing it to God. Is that the kind of prayer you want to send God? Page 1 of 4 |
